Simplifies Migration of Data Models

ISLANDIA, N.Y. AND MOUTAIN VIEW, CA, August 8, 2006 – CA (NYSE: CA) and Meta Integration Technology, Inc. today announced an agreement to embed the Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB) into CA’s AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler. The integration will help customers streamline application development and ensure the consistency of data models across the enterprise by simplifying and automating the shared use of common data and metadata.

As organizations deploy a growing number of business applications, the complexity of data and metadata associated with those applications increases rapidly. By effectively managing these complex data sets, IT organizations can reduce development costs by reusing data models that have been proven in production. They also can more readily deliver critical business intelligence to decision-makers by better leveraging a common set of data models across multiple applications.

“Organizations around the world continue to rely on AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler to deliver cost effective, high-quality data models,” said David Schipper, vice president of product management at CA. “Adding the metadata migration capabilities from MIMB improves modeler productivity by automating the ongoing task of integration. This enables our customers to accelerate their response to changing business needs and better leverages their data modeling investment in support of an enterprise-wide metadata management strategy.”

AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler simplifies the design, generation and maintenance of high-quality, high-performance databases, data warehouses and enterprise data resource models. It also enables developers and IT architects to more readily visualize the optimal structure and design of their databases and other applications based on their organization’s information requirements and business rules.

“Meta Integration Technology has had a strong partnership with CA for many years, and we are pleased to extend that relationship with this new agreement,” said Christian Bremeau, president of Meta Integration Technology. “Customers will clearly benefit from the incorporation of our proven metadata movement and integration technology into CA’s best-in-class data modeling solution.”

Meta Integration Technology’s MIMB is an industry leading solution that allows IT organizations to manage the complex flow of metadata between disparate products, enabling them to develop and enforce metadata management best practices across the enterprise.

MIMB is included at no additional cost with AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler r7.1.
