Professional exhibition in the Red Dot Design Museum: "Intelligent material & design for furniture and interior architecture"

For designers and architects, intelligent materials, product innovations and surprising detail solutions open up new possibilities concerning product design for future living environments and lifestyles. By presenting the exhibition “Intelligent material & design for furniture and interior architecture”, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen offers an expert audience a place of inspiration from 12 – 30 October 2013.

Around 50 exhibits present design solutions of the international supplier industry for the furniture production and interiors sector. From materials and surfaces to products from the fields of fittings, glass and lighting to upholstery manufacture and bedding – the selected exhibits provide new impulses for industry, craft and trade.

All of the exhibits received a prize in the “interzum award: intelligent material & design 2013”, an international competition which is organised by Koelnmesse in cooperation with Red Dot every two years. Five renowned experts from the fields of design and architecture tested and discussed the entered drafts. But only the most innovative products, which combined outstanding functionality and highest quality, were presented with an award.

With the exhibition, which was developed in the course of the EU-project PROUD (People Researchers Organisations Using Design for co-creation and innovation), the Red Dot Design Museum continues its series of seminars and exhibitions focusing on the topic of “Innovative materials in the design industry”.
