Deliver Your News to the World

October is Media Mojo Month – Show Journalists Some Love

Public Relations Consultant Jane Tabachnick is on a mission to help you write irresistible media pitches that journalists love, and that get you more press.

While entrepreneurs and businesses alike desire media coverage, many aren’t media ready, frustrating journalists forced to read through bad pitches, and publicity seekers who fail to get results. Media Mojo Month was created as part of a challenge digital pr specialist Jane Tabachnick set for herself, to follow her own teachings and become more media friendly. She invites you to do the same.

To get media ready, you need to get your mojo on. Ms. Tabachnick offers these tips for success:

  1. Know the rules of the road. There are specific formats and timelines used by the media including editorial calendars and press release formats, which are easily found online.
  2. Target your pitches, rather than use a shotgun approach. Use the 4R’s for successful pitching - right media outlet or publication, right journalist, right story, right timing.
  3. Create media assets and post them online. 87% of journalists surveyed expect companies of all sizes to have an online pressroom. These can talk to the media 24/7 on your behalf, as well as help a journalist on a deadline, who can grab your information from your website to complete their story, even if its 3 a.m.

Media Mojo Month was conceived by Jane Tabachnick as part of her own 30-Day PR Challenge.

“I decided to challenge myself to improve my own media assets and become more media ready in 30 days,” stated Tabachnick.

The goals of Media Mojo Month are to recognize and celebrate journalists, as well as train more entrepreneurs and businesses to become media savvy, which in turn makes the media’s job easier. For more information or to join the 30-Day PR Challenge starting on October 7th, visit
