Austin, TX, September 30, 2013 - Despite it being nearly October, it hit 95 degrees in Austin, Texas this past week, which is the perfect weather to go boating, skiing or fishing. According to a well-respected Austin Blogger, “Makin’ Waves”, it’s a great time to be out on the water. The blog site says, “The typical warm weather of the Lake Austin area allows for a unique boating experience that people in colder climates usually can’t have.” He advised that as the weather permits, local residents consider renting a boat now because this time of year is the best time to avoid the crowds that generally flock to the Lake during the summer months.

The blogger said, “Lake Austin is known for its large mouth bass population with a potential for trophy-winning catches. Many people report-catching bass weighing eight pounds or more out of the lake. Catfish and sunfish are also known to inhabit the area, as well as bluegill, red-ear and red-breast, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.”

A spokesman for Makin’ Waves Watercraft Rentals enthusiastically announced that they plan to rent boats into the first weekend of November, and mentioned that they offer an inclement weather rescheduling policy so people can book their boating reservations without concern.

A recent rumor to lower Lakes Austin, Marble Falls, Inks and L.B.J. have been completely dispelled by the Chairman of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) Timothy Timmerman. Timmerman announced that his agency will not be lowering the lake levels due to severe drought.

Ryan Rowney, the LCRA manager of water operations told KVUE television station that there never was a plan, nor will there be in the future, to lower Lake Austin.
Of course this is great news for boating and fishing enthusiasts who utilize Lake Austin for recreation.
