McMurray Stern Is Accepted Into Exclusive Program from Clark Construction
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA – August 26, 2013 – McMurray Stern, Southern California’s leader for innovative storage systems and records management solutions, has always been committed to improving its infrastructure, knowledge, and approach to client needs and services. As a testament to this commitment, two McMurray Stern project managers have been accepted into the exclusive Strategic Partnership Program from Clark Construction—one of the oldest and largest construction service companies in the nation. Clark created this program, in their words, to “…[work] cooperatively with our local small business partners to increase the size, scope, and scale of their operations.”
Exhaustive 9-Month Training Program
Accepted into this program are McMurray Stern project managers Jeff Kretchmer and Krista Gilmore. During this nine-month program, they will participate in a variety of classes and trainings covering the following topics:
- Project management fundamentals
- Architectural blueprint reading
- Estimating
- Scheduling
- Purchasing
In addition, throughout the program Kretchmer and Gilmore will also participate in a series of workshops demonstrating what it takes to compete successfully for opportunities on construction projects, including:
- Construction and contracting requirements
- Bonding and insurance requirements
- Prequalification, bidding and invoicing
- Financing/access to capital
Upon completion of the Strategic Partnership Program, McMurray Stern will be in a position to attract larger projects where its storage design expertise is greatly needed. “We are extremely grateful for this training opportunity and how it will propel McMurray Stern forward,” said Kretchmer. “This is an exciting time for our company and we thank Clark Construction for welcoming us.”
