Unisys to Showcase Innovations at Universe Event in Chicago

CHICAGO, IL - Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) announced today that it will be showcasing a range of its product and service innovations at its global Universe client and partner event being held here this week.

The innovations – including a breakthrough new fabric server platform, a powerful new high-end ClearPath server, and advanced solutions for cybersecurity, cloud, big data, and mobility – provide organizations with new approaches to reducing costs, simplifying and securing their IT operations, and delivering IT services more cost effectively to end users, customers and citizens.

Keynote presentations for the event will be delivered by Unisys Chairman and CEO Ed Coleman and by Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak.

The Universe event, which has been expanded this year to spotlight a broad portfolio of Unisys technology and solutions, will feature more than 70 individual sessions on specific Unisys solutions and services including:

Forward!™ by Unisys. This breakthrough secure architecture, being previewed at Universe, is designed to handle the most demanding requirements of cloud and big data workloads and also provide organizations a cost-effective path for migrating Unix application workloads off legacy RISC-based platforms onto an Intel processor-based environment. Expected to have its formal unveiling at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in early October, the new platform will combine Unisys’ advanced secure partitioning (s-Par®) and virtualization technology with Intel® Xeon® family processors into a fabric architecture, providing a powerful, secure and highly flexible environment for mission-critical computing.

ClearPath. Unisys will dedicate an entire track of sessions at the Universe event to showcase innovative features and capabilities for its flagship enterprise server family. Also at Universe, Unisys is announcing its new top-of-the-line ClearPath Libra 8290 server, the most powerful Libra MCP server ever offered by the company. The ClearPath Libra 8290 boosts performance for mission-critical applications by up to 20 percent and is the company’s first Intel-based server to outperform a traditional CMOS-based system.

Unisys Stealth™. At Universe, Unisys will showcase its growing suite of cybersecurity products, including the recently announced Unisys Stealth for Amazon Web Services solution. Unisys Stealth uses advanced data cloaking techniques to help organizations mitigate cybersecurity attacks and hacker incidents by rendering devices, data, and end users virtually invisible on the network.

ITSM as a Service. Clients attending the Universe event will be able to learn more about the company’s comprehensive suite of cloud-based IT Service Management solutions, aimed at helping organizations simplify and improve the delivery of IT support services to their end users while reducing costs. Unisys will also spotlight a range of its other cloud-based solutions – including specific industry solutions – at the Universe event.

In addition to the solution sessions, the Universe event will feature a number of demonstrations of Unisys solutions and technologies, as well as a showcase of solutions from partners including Intel, EMC, BMC, and NetApp. The event will also feature sessions on Unisys technologies and solutions for public sector, financial services and other industries.
