Rezidor reaches 220 eco-labelled hotels across Europe, the Middle East & Africa

Rezidor, one of the most dynamic hotel companies worldwide and a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, continues to go green: All across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Rezidor now counts more than 220 eco-labelled hotels – and is on track to become the first international hotel group to have all its properties eco-labelled by the year 2015.

Every year since 2010, Rezidor has been named one of the world’s most ethical companies by the US think tank “Ethisphere”.

Rezidor’s latest hotels to be eco-labelled are:

• Radisson Blu Sobieski Hotel, Warsaw, Poland
• Radisson Blu Hotel Madrid Prado, Spain
• Radisson Blu Hotel Cairo Heliopolis, Egypt
• Radisson Blu Fredensborg Hotel Bornholm, Denmark
• Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Alushta, Ukraine
• Radisson Blu Resort Trysil, Norway
• Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport, Norway

Rezidor works exclusively with internationally recognized eco-labels that are validated by an external audit. Key eco-labelling partners are Green Key (in 2009, Rezidor became the first international hotel group to partner with Green Key), Nordic Swan (Nordics), Green Tourism Business Scheme (UK) and Green Hospitality Award (Ireland).

In order to attain an eco-label hotels have to comply with strict environmental requirements and actions criteria in energy and water savings, waste management, environmental management, use of fair trade and organic products. The Radisson Blu Hotel Madrid Prado for example has invested 15,000 EUR in LED lighting, various insulation measures, waste management and a move to eco-labelled cleaning products before achieving the Green Key.
