TrainACE and their cyber security branch, Advanced Security, have released an updated Certified Ethical Hacker exam study guide, available for free on their website. The CEH certification has gained popularity and credibility over the years since its birth. EC-Council, which provides the certification, updated their exam to version 8 in May 2013. As a result, TrainACE has updated their popular free study guide to reflect changes in the exam’s subject matter.

The CEH exam focuses on nineteen different topics, including footprinting, Trojans and viruses, hacking web applications, SQL injection, and penetration testing. TrainACE’s Subject Matter Experts who created the study guide examined the nineteen exam topics thoroughly, allowing the exam guide to provide detailed and comprehensive practice for students. The CEH exam puts its largest focus on sections about security, systems and tools used in ethical hacking, and methodology or procedures such as cryptography. The exam itself lasts four hours, and requires a 70% passing score. Version 8 consists of 125 multiple-choice questions, whereas earlier versions had up to 150 questions. The study guide released by TrainACE presents sample questions and follows up with specific explanations of the correct and incorrect answers.

TrainACE’s newly updated study guide will be able to assist students in their test preparation while reassuring them that they are studying material that has been curated for the most current version of the exam. “We’re excited to release the latest version of our CEH study guide,” said Ralph P. Sita, Jr., CEO of TrainACE. “In a fast-changing field like cyber security, it is imperative that students stay up-to-date on changes in material and industry focus. Our new revised study guide will help them do just that.”

Advanced Security by TrainACE has been providing resources and training for the CEH certification since 2005, and has been providing exceptional IT and security education since 2001. TrainACE has two classroom facilities in Greenbelt, MD and Ashburn, VA. For more information about CEH training, as well as IT or advanced security education, visit TrainACE’s website.
