Silent Partner Technologies (SPT) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new partner, Jeffrey R. Fitzsimmons, Ph.D., currently a Professor of Radiology at the University of Florida.  As a world leader in manufacturing and integrating RFID solutions, SPT recognizes the value of being able to access Dr. Fitzsimmons’ expertise to support their research, development, and implementation of RFID applications.

“We appreciate both the academic credentials and the practical, business experience that Dr. Fitzsimmons brings to our work,” declared Ted Kostis, President of SPT. “We look forward to a long term, productive relationship with this internationally renowned researcher.”

His extensive experience in exploring the potential of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology led Dr. Fitzsimmons to developing radio frequency (RF) receiver coils and to his current research on functional imaging (fMRI) of the human brain. Over the years, the National Institute of Health has recruited him to participate in screening other research projects. Dr. Fitzsimmons has published more than 65 peer reviewed MRI papers and he holds two key MRI patents.

Dr. Fitzsimmons also understands the advantages of funding and supporting the private sector in developing its technology advancements. He was chairman of the board at MRI Devices Corp, facilitating the growth of a $1000 investment to $40 million annual revenues. The RF coil legacy of the team he co-founded at MRIDC is the current mainstay of medical systems of well-known companies such as Philips and Siemens.

Over the years, Dr. Fitzsimmons has demonstrated his ability to apply scientific research to technological solutions ranging from medical devices to unmanned aerial vehicles. He continues his commitment of putting research into action by joining forces with SPT as this forward looking company develops more advanced software and RFID tracking solutions.
