Elsevier Publishes Seven New Cyber Security Books

Waltham, MA - Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the publication of seven new cyber security books, including Introduction to Cyber-Warfare: A Multidisciplinary Approach and The Basics of Hacking and Penetration Testing: Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing Made Easy. These and other related book titles will be available at DEF CON and Black Hat conferences in Las Vegas from Breakpoint, the official conference bookstore.

Written by experts Paulo Shakarian, Jana Shakarian, and Andrew Ruef, Introduction to Cyber-Warfare explains how cyber-warfare is carried out, why it is the new means of warfare, and the relevant military, policy, social, and scientific issues at play. It presents detailed case studies of cyber-attacks on governments, corporations and individuals.

The second edition of The Basics of Hacking and Penetration Testing provides updated information about ethical hacking, as well as penetration testing and interpretation using the most modern hacking tools. Author Dr. Patrick Engebretson is an expert in information security and a frequent speaker on the topic. The first edition of the book was cited by General Keith B. Alexander, Commander, U.S. Cyber Command and Director, National Security Agency in a keynote address on cyber security and American power in 2012.

All of the books are available through the Elsevier Store or can be found on ScienceDirect, a full-text scientific database offering journal articles and book chapters from more than 2,500 peer-reviewed journals and more than 11,000 books.
