Thomson Prometric and SimCorp Announce Collaboration

WEBWIRE

Baltimore, MD, 08/01/2006, Thomson Prometric, the global leader in assessment services, and part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), and SimCorp, a global, Denmark-based provider of standard software solutions to financial institutions and corporate finance departments, today announced a three-year agreement in which Thomson Prometric will administer SimCorp’s certification program. The certification program relates to accreditation of SimCorp staff, external consultants and SimCorp’s customers enrolled in the SimCorp Dimension Academy. Assessments will be administered in an Internet-based format at SimCorp offices throughout the world.

SimCorp has been administering its accreditation program for nearly two years and is convinced that the technological capabilities of Thomson Prometric’s Internet-based testing software will streamline and improve the process. The accreditation program consists of three separate assessment tests, with Level 1 required of all SimCorp staff who work with the SimCorp Dimension investment management software package and Levels 2 and 3 required of those with specific, more advanced job responsibilities related to the software. Many external candidates also enroll in the SimCorp Dimension academy and take the certification tests on a voluntary basis to improve their professional credentials.

Currently, the assessments are administered in a paper-and-pencil format. Thomson Prometric will use its knowledge and experience in the field to convert the tests to Internet-based format; launch is scheduled for September of this year.

“Helping global companies like SimCorp increase the efficiency of their training and accreditation programs is the core of our business. We look forward to serving them and their candidates for many years to come,” said David Grinham, vice president and general manager EMEA, Thomson Prometric.

“Thomson Prometric’s evident expertise in converting paper-and-pencil testing programs to electronic format gives us the confidence we need in an assessment testing provider. We are pleased to be working with them and believe that SimCorp Dimension Academy delegates will surely benefit from the new testing format,” said Vice President Klaus Søren Arfelt.
