Easy Access Clothes Designer Reveals Plans to Develop New Line of Adaptive Clothing for Elderly and Disabled Adults

SOUTH AUSTRALIA, Australia July, 2013 – Three sisters – on a mission to change the world one garment at a time – have revolutionised the way children with autism and disabilities are dressed by creating innovative and practical easy access, adaptive clothes. Ann Boer, Kay Rault and Lois Walsh, all from South Australia, work together as a dedicated team that designs and manufactures easy on, easy off clothes especially created for children with autism and/or cerebral palsy. Ann Boer, who is the marketing manager of Inspired by Lacey Shea says, “As we are a young company, we are constantly adding to, and improving, our range to help improve the lives of others. Ann Boer’s granddaughter, Lacey Shea, is the inspiration for the sisters’ joint venture. Lacey Shea suffers from severe cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy as a result of two strokes around the time of her birth, and is wholly dependent on her family for everything – from eating to dressing – due to her paralysis. The designs for each garment are inspired by Lacey Shea and further enhanced by parents’ wishes for easy on, easy off clothing that is both smart and trendy.

Ann says, “Aside from having Lacey in our family, we have also been fortunate to witness the difficulties faced when caring for the aged – having seen support workers care for the elderly who are restricted for various reasons, mostly due to their cognitive and/or motor skills.
