The Golf Care Matchplay Championship, which will see 40 of the best amateur golfers from around the world flown to Dubai to compete at the famous Els Club, has a new website, which can be found at http://www.golfcare.co.uk/matchplaychampionship/.

Would-be entrants have just over a week to get their entries in for the qualifying stages of 2013/14 event, which starts next month.

The handful of lucky finalists in the three separate sections of the tournament – men’s singles, men’s pairs and mixed pairs – will jet off to the Gulf, and enjoy a week’s five-star hospitality at the brand new JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Hotel, the tallest dedicated hotel in the world.

Before then, all participants will be whittled down to the final groups in an elimination tournament which will be held at one of the UK’s most prestigious modern golf complexes, the Marriott Forest of Arden in leafy Warwickshire.
For anyone wishing to take part, the entry fee is a mere £30, or £60 per pair, and participants can enter multiple events if they wish.

Entrants, and even those who just want to follow the progress of their local representatives can do so on the fact and stats-packed website for the event, which also has full details of the course which will stage the final and the prestigious hotel which is providing the hospitality.

The site also features a preview of the event featuring Bernard Gallagher MBE which has been compiled by Sky Sports, which will televise highlights of both the Forest of Arden event and the exciting final itself. The final stages of this year’s event can be seen next Tuesday and Wednesday, June 25 and 26, while the final is being screened on Tuesday and Wednesday July 2 and 3 – so would-be participants can see what could be in store for them if they manage to battle their way through the qualifiers.

“The new website is sure to whet the appetite of all amateur golfers and, we hope, will persuade them to register to take part in the 2014 event by giving them a taster of the luxurious, once-in-a-lifetime experience which could be in store for them if they’re lucky enough to earn a place in the grand finals,” said Matt, of tournament sponsor Golfcare.co.uk.

Full competition rules and details about its format can be found on the site, along with a history of the tournament, and videos of the spectacular final venue.
