British film makers are teaming up with Industrial Motion Pictures and Dr. Brian Mehling to produce a documentary about Stem Cell research and treatments.

A private viewing of the extended preview of the documentary took place at Villa Horizon Blue in Cannes for private guests and members of the press. Together with international film makers, actresses/actors and other industry people, RTL Television, Germany’s largest private broadcaster, was among the Press that reported from the private event at the Villa.

The documentary, which focuses on the controversy around stem cells in the United States, and how the US is falling behind within the medical field of stem cell treatments caught the interest of a British film producer.
The film producer, based at Pinewood Studios, is in discussion with Industrial Motion Pictures to develop and produce the documentary about stem cell treatment and research.

“The UK is the hub of stem cell research in the world, and by basing the project here we aim to portray the unbiased truth about the benefits of stem cell treatments whilst giving it the best possible chance of appealing to an international audience.” Says Ailie Smith, film producer at Pinewood studios.

It’s an exciting time to be shooting films in the UK, with many of the industry’s biggest projects choosing the UK over Hollywood.  Disney has recently decided on Pinewood as the place to house their new 10 year Star Wars franchise.

“We are very excited to go into talks about producing our movie in the UK, and we will hopefully close a deal within the next month”, says Dr. Brian Mehling.

Dr. Brian Mehling, in addition to being an orthopedic surgeon, founder of Blue Horizon International and Blue Horizon Stem Cells, is a film producer whose production company Industrial Motion Pictures recently produced the film Tiny Tears. The project focuses on children who have been affected by the HIV virus in Thailand, Uganda, Brazil and America.
