Michael Anthony Salon DC Launches New Product Line That Builds Schools for Girls in Africa.

Michael Anthony Salon on Capitol Hill announced a new product line that expands their long-standing commitment to creating positive social and environmental change in the world.

Owner Mickey Bolek said, “We are excited to introduce AG Hair Cosmetics into our product line.” AG Hair is a Canadian company that makes high-quality, organic, salt and sulfate-free products, with no animal testing. “What really appealed to us about adding this line to the current Paul Mitchell offerings,” says Bolek, “is that AG Hair is doing amazing things through Women Leading Change, a Foundation started in 2008.”

Women Leading Change raises money from the sale of AG Hair products to build a school-a-year for girls in Sub-Saharan Africa. “Once I saw what they were doing and the difference it was making in the lives of these young girls on the other side of the world, I knew that I wanted my Salon to be part of that,” says Bolek with excitement. “And,” he adds, “the products are hair-healthy, PETA-friendly, and, well... just plain fantastic.”

From the moment that the Michael Anthony Salon opened in 2009, it has been a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon. This means that all products and services offered at the Salon and for take-home, have been part of the extensive Paul Mitchell line.  “We chose Paul Mitchell as our anchor brand and it remains so,” says Bolek, “for the superior quality,  and also because the company is very forward-thinking and active in its commitment to philanthropy and environmental awareness.
