Local Family Turns Building Blocks into Learning Tools
Colorado Springs residents Rudi and Shannon DiAmco are happy to bring Bricks 4 Kidz®, a new educational enrichment program, to Colorado Springs and surrounding area communities.
Colorado Springs, CO (June 14, 2013) - Colorado Springs residents Rudi and Shannon DiAmco are happy to bring a new educational enrichment program to Colorado Springs and surrounding area communities.
Bricks 4 Kidz® is a nationwide, creative learning program that teaches school aged children Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) concepts using LEGO® components such as bricks, gears, motors, and axles. The classes are run through summer camps and after school enrichment programs in area schools, community centers, churches, and other locations within the community.
Bricks 4 Kidz® also offers other programs such as Pre-School Classes, Mommy and Me Classes, In-School Field Trips, Birthday Parties, Kidz and Parents’ Night Out, Special Event Support (Weddings, Family Reunions, Corporate Picnics, etc), and One on One sessions.
The models built in a Bricks 4 Kidz® Lab are not like the LEGO® models built from a kit bought at your typical toy store. Most Bricks 4 Kidz® models are actual working machines that utilize motors, gears, and axles. All the models and lesson plans are unique to Bricks 4 Kidz®.
Designed by teachers, architects and engineering professionals, the lessons in a
Bricks 4 Kidz® class help students build problem solving and critical thinking skills and foster creativity and innovation.
Bricks 4 Kidz® currently has classes scheduled at the Westside Community Center.
Shannon DiAmco, Bricks 4 Kidz® of Colorado Springs Owner, is in the process of contacting schools and community centers now to tell them about this great new program.
