Boston, MA USA - Raucous Bacchus Productions, founded by Boston artists Andrew Cromartie and Gillian Page, is producing the feature-length film “Nantucket Sounds” to be filmed on Nantucket and produced entirely in Massachusetts beginning July 21, 2013. The film is in the early stages of production and launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign earlier today (http://tinyurl.com/ACKSndsfilm)

The story of “Nantucket Sounds” is a coming-of-age summer love story centered around Jack Worthington. He’s just graduated from college, he has a job waiting for him, he’s engaged to his loving and extremely wealthy girlfriend, Mika VanAdler, and he’s spending his last carefree summer at his family home on Nantucket. For Jack, the future is bright...until Erin, a beautiful and mysterious musician, steps into the picture. Through his relationship with Erin, Jack finds his hidden passion for music, and his world turns upside-down. Facing oppression from all sides, Jack must make a decision: smother his passion to start his ’perfect’ life with Mika or pursue Erin and the music career he dreams about.

“Nantucket Sounds” began a year ago, when Boston artists and Nantucket natives Andrew Cromartie and Gillian Page, founded Raucous Bacchus Productions. With a mission to create collaborative performance opportunities they built a group of Boston-based actors, crew, artists, and musicians to produce their first project, “The Big Funk” a play by John Patrick Shanley. With different bands playing live alongside the actors on stage each night, “The Big Funk” wasn’t just a play but a multi-faceted performance event. After that, the vision for Raucous Bacchus was to embrace a style of storytelling that highlights music and narrative, to create films and new media.

The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign was launched today to raise money to cover production costs for “Nantucket Sounds”.  With a dedicated and professional cast and crew and location shoots at various local landmarks and hotspots on the island, “Nantucket Sounds” will be a high-quality indie film that will be entered in the Sundance, Tribeca, Nantucket, Boston,  and Palm Beach Film Festivals.
