ThrowdaownFantasy.com Launches Free Fantasy MMA Games For Cash Prizes

WEBWIRE

NEW YORK, NY - ThrowdownFantasy (throwdownfantasy.com) has launched its first Fantasy MMA game to go along with its already successful Fantasy Boxing games. It’s free to join and the top 5 contestants will share a $500 cash prize.

Like the boxing games, contestants will draft 5 fighters from a pool of fighters and compete to win cash prizes. Entries are open now and will be open until June 15th at 4pm EST. The fighters will come from UFC 161 (6/15) and Bellator Summer Series Week 1 (6/19) events. Fighters such as Rashad Evans, Dan Henderson and Michael Chandler are some of the big names that will be part of the game.

Contestants will get points based on the decision of the fights, bonus points for knockout and submission victories and fight stats. The fight stats will consist of power strikes landed, submission attempts, takedowns, dominant positions and knockdowns. The stats will be provided by CompuStrike, who’s parent company, CompuBox Inc., have been tracking stats for combat sports since 1985.

ThrowdownFantasy will be rolling out a full website for weekly fantasy MMA and boxing this summer. The new website will be similar to other daily/weekly fantasy websites (FanDuel.com) in that users will have accounts where they deposit money and enter into fantasy games. The prize money comes from a pool of entry fees with the top contestants sharing the pot. Fantasy sports are fully legal in the US and classified as games of skill and not gambling.

ThrowdownFantasy.com hopes to take a piece of the growing fantasy sports industry and looks to become the leader in fantasy combat sports. To find out more, please visit www.throwdownfantasy.com.
