2013 APIC Attendees Prepare to See the Latest in UV Disinfection Technologies
UltraViolet Devices, Inc. (UVDI) will be exhibiting advanced disinfection products at the world’s largest gathering of infection control professionals.
UVDI, a leading provider of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection and molecular filtration technologies, will be exhibiting again at the Association of Professionals in Infection Control’s (APIC) 2013 Annual Educational Conference & International Meeting. The 40th meeting is taking place in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from June 8th through the 10th.
According to the conference website, “Each year more than 2,500 clinical professionals from around the world gather for three days to advance their network and learn about evidence-based advances in infection prevention.” It goes on to inform attendees that they will, “Learn more about new science, technologies, advances, and products that provide solutions to your infection prevention challenges and strengthen your infection prevention program.”
One of the most anticipated products that will be on display is UVDI’s V-360+ UV Room Sanitizer. This mobile UV device is used by hospital environmental services staff to achieve superior surface disinfection in areas of the hospital where HAIs are a concern. The V-360+ UV Room Sanitizer generates a high intensity ultraviolet germicidal irradiation zone to quickly disinfect surfaces contaminated with viruses, bacteria and fungi. It has been proven effective against superbugs such as MRSA and C. difficile.
“The costs and risks associated with healthcare acquired infections are enormous,” reported Richard Hayes, President of UltraViolet Devices, Inc. “The CDC estimates there are approximately 1.7 million HAIs contracted annually that add over $30 billion in annual medical costs in the U.S. alone. For over 20 years, UVDI has developed products to disinfect water and air and now we are bringing this experience to disinfect and sanitize healthcare environments in hospitals around the globe.”
UVDI is an established supplier to global OEMs and also serves the end use hospital market. The company has over 20 years of experience manufacturing HVAC efficiency optimization and coil maintenance UV systems, surface and airstream disinfection UV systems, carbon air filtration for improved indoor air quality (IAQ) and customized filters for medical applications.
