Santa Clara, CA – Avaya announced today it has joined the Open Visual Communications Consortium™ (OVCC™), the organization that enables service providers to deliver a consistent visual communications experience to enterprise customers across networks and devices. As part of the OVCC group, Avaya will help develop guidelines for interoperable, inter-company B2B communications.

Avaya delivers standards-based video collaboration on its Avaya Aura platform as well as traditional video conferencing through its acquisition of Radvision, which has been providing open, interoperable IP-based video solutions for more than 20 years. In addition, Avaya offers Collaborative Cloud enablement solutions for service providers, and Scopia video solutions are at the core of many video-as-a-service (VaaS) offerings and VNOC services.

As a leading provider of real-time enterprise collaboration solutions, Avaya will actively participate in the technical activities of the OVCC as well as provide its expertise in the areas of video software and hardware interoperability, call control platforms, and session border control. By joining the consortium, Avaya experts will help deliver better multivendor interoperability and performance and help protect the investments customers have already made in video technologies.

OVCC members are creating expansive visual and collaborative communication opportunities to deliver video as the new voice. The world’s most influential global and managed service providers offer enterprise users a consistent experience with services easy enough to use everyday.
