The Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG has appointed Barbara Schädler as Head of Corporate Communications of the Lufthansa Group. She will take over on 1 July 2013 from Jürgen Homeyer, who has been in charge of corporate communications on an interim basis since December 2012.
“We are delighted to welcome Barbara Schädler on board at the Lufthansa Group. With her in-depth experience as chief of communications and marketing at blue chip companies, she is a perfect choice and just the type of person we wanted to take charge of our corporate communications,” said Lufthansa CEO and Chairman Dr. Christoph Franz. The Chairman expressed his thanks to Jürgen Homeyer for his commitment and dedication at the post: “Mr. Homeyer has done a magnificent job and achieved a great deal during his brief tenure for Lufthansa. We wish him and his consulting business every success in the future.”
Barbara Schädler, who holds an economics degree, was spokeswoman at the Federal Finance Ministry from 1994 to 1998. She subsequently assumed responsibility for corporate communications at RWE Energie AG prior to moving in 2000 to Fujitsu Siemens Computers, where she was latterly responsible for all marketing and communications functions as Chief Marketing Officer and a member of the Executive Council. Since 2011, Barbara Schädler has been employed at SAP AG as Senior Vice President Global Communications.
