Tennis Offers Lifelong Benefits for Kids

USTA Serves recently completed a study which found that kids who play tennis do more homework, get better grades and believe they will attend and graduate college more than kids who play other sports or no sports at all. In addition, tennis participants are less likely to engage in risky behaviors than other student athletes and non-athletes.

Tennis camp is a great way to introduce kids to the game of tennis. In addition to the aforementioned benefits of tennis itself, children will also enjoy the confidence building benefits of summer camp.

The Holabird Sports Tennis Camp at UMBC powered by Babolat offers individual and group instruction for tennis players of all skill levels. Whether you’re new to the game or want to improve your skills, this camp offers a chance to train with professional coaches while making new friends and having a great time.

Junior camp (ages 6 – 18) is divided into four sessions throughout June and July. Campers may choose overnight, extended day, full day or half day for each session. Adult camp (18+) is four nights only, June 24 – June 27, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

On the first day each camper will be evaluated and placed in the right group to maximize his or her potential. Training includes on-court instruction, strategy presentations, match play opportunities, and more. At the end of each camp session, each camper will receive a personalized evaluation of strengths and weaknesses to aid their continued on-court development.
