(Oakland, CA) The 90 winners of the 2013 Bulldog Awards for Excellence in Media and Publicity Campaigns were announced Friday by Bulldog Reporter. These winners enter a pantheon of exemplary communications practitioners, and their campaigns will be summarized in the Bulldog Media Relations Awards Hall of Fame magazine, which is to be published on May 15, 2013.
Winners were chosen exclusively by working journalists from hundreds of entries representing the very best strategic and tactical prowess that PR/corporate communications has to offer. Campaigns were judged by a team of working journalists, who assessed them on the basis of their ability to achieve extraordinary visibility and influence opinion, as well as on their creativity, command of media and technology, and tenacity.
This year’s Grand Prize was awarded to Zapwater Communications for their “Downsize Fitness: Downsizing the Obesity Epidemic” campaign. The judges awarded this campaign two Gold Awards—for Best Health, Medicine & Fitness Campaign and Best Campaign Under $25,000—plus a Silver Award for Best New Product Launch – Consumer. “This campaign won three Bulldog Media Relations Awards---an extraordinary achievement by any measure. But it’s no surprise when you consider Zapwater Communications Downsize Fitness campaign demonstrates all the classic qualities of outstanding public relations---solid research, brilliant creative, savvy media relations strategy, top-tier story placements and quantifiable business results. It’s every client’s dream. This is not the first time Zapwater Communications has won Bulldog Awards, so we’re not surprised at their high-level performance, but the Downsize Fitness effort was world class.” observed Bulldog Reporter publisher James Sinkinson.
