Fire alarm system for City Hilton Hotel Munich: Fire protection systems by Bosch ensure safety of Munich hotel guests

· Fire alarm system with practically invisible optical-chemical smoke detectors 500 Series

Bosch has equipped the City Hilton Hotel Munich with a new fire alarm system. The system consists of six networked fire panels and an autarchic panel that triggers an external alarm to the Munich fire department. More than 1080 smoke detectors have been connected up in the 20,000 square meter hotel complex. As a result, the 4-star hotel is now protected by modern, extensive fire alarm technology. The installation was carried out as part of a complete renovation of the City Hilton Hotel Munich.

In the hotel lobby, Bosch installed twenty-five smoke detectors 500 Series, blending them unobtrusively with the elegant interior of the Hilton Hotel. The smoke detectors are completely recessed in the ceiling and adapted perfectly to the interior decor of the building, so that they are all but invisible.

This reliable, inconspicuous fire detection system would not be possible without an innovative new technology: The 500 Series devices detect smoke using two external detection areas, the internal measuring chamber that has been used in conventional systems until now is no longer required. The detectors are also equipped with a gas sensor, which detects the carbon monoxide that is generated in fires. Without the typical smoke detector measuring chamber, the smoke detector 500 Series can be fitted flush with the ceiling, preserving the beauty of the hotel lobby’s architecture while enhancing the modern interior design of the City Hilton Hotel Munich.
