Acer T2 Series Touch Monitors Win the Red Dot Award for Design Excellence

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - - Acer’s T2 series touch LED monitors have been awarded with the Red Dot, one of the world’s most sought-after quality marks for excellence in product design. The award is presented annually in the international competition by a jury of 37 design experts for the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen of Germany. Design guru Jimmy Choo joined as a member of the jury for the first time in this year’s competition, which received 4,662 entries in 19 categories. The T2 was selected in the “computers and information technology” category.

T2 Series Touch LED Monitors
Also winners of the Taiwan Excellence Award, Acer’s T2 monitors are slender and minimalist and a masterpiece of design and technology that bring touch and type duality to desktop users. They set new standards in terms of ergonomics and smart viewing and are engineered to deliver top performance as well as a sophisticated design, and will appeal to graphic artists, professionals and design-conscious users alike.

Available in 23 and 27 inch sizes, the T2 series are supported by a silver asymmetric stand and allow users to adjust the angle from 30 to 80 degrees tilt for the most comfortable touch usages, especially during sustained use. With 10-point multi-touch technology the T2 monitors support multi-user scenarios for an ideal touch experience.

The black super slim bezel features edge-to-edge glass that extends to the base thereby creating an illusion of floating on air. While the new generation IPS/VA LED panels deliver a wide viewing angle, meaning users can view the monitors from different positions and still see clear images, rich details and higher color accuracy, allowing for better team work session or gaming with friends.

Full HD 1920x1080 resolution enables cinematic views of the latest HD content, gaming, multimedia and productivity applications. The T2 series are equipped with both DVI and HDMI ports to provide advanced digital connectivity and enable outstanding HD viewing and quality audio. USB 3.0 ports ensure fast data transfer to and from external devices and can be used to charge other devices.

The T2 series integrate white LED technology that reduces power consumption by up to 68%; ensures exceptional reliability and delivers better performance. The monitors are also mercury free and built with arsenic-free glass.

Award Ceremony and Exhibition
The Red Dot award ceremony will take place on July 1, 2013 in Germany, at the Essen Aalto Theater in front of more than 1,000 guests. Following the ceremony, the Acer T2 monitors will be showcased at the Red Dot design museum for a special four-week exhibition, and online at www.red-dot.de.
