The new Audi R8 launches at Essex Audi on March 14

This spring, the new Audi R8 will be making a bold entrance to Audi showrooms. Essex Audi is set to launch the model at their Southend dealership on March 14.
 
The new R8 is a powerful sports cars with refined Audi style. It has been inspired by classic racing cars from the manufacturer, which were given the title of ‘R8’ during their track careers. Twin exhaust pipes and a retractable spoiler are new to each vehicle, joining new bumpers and LED headlights to lend each a sharper, more confident aura.
 
Within each model, full Nappa leather upholstery is provided for the utmost comfort, and the driver’s position incorporates a ‘flat bottom’ sports steering wheel and aluminum gear shift paddles. All primary controls and buttons have been placed within a 30cm distance of the wheel, maximising the convenience and comfort for the driver.
 
A new twin-clutch transmission replaces the seven-speed option to support the engine in the 2013 version of the R8. The choices for the car are a 4.2-litre V8 and 5.2-litre V10, with the latter now posting a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds. Each new engine system will reduce the R8’s CO2 emissions by up to 22g/km. The engine is placed at the mid-point of the car for added stability, in turn increasing the cabin space for occupants.
 
As expected of any Audi, the R8 range is just as capable when it comes to safety. Reinforced ceramic brakes work with electronic driver assistance to produce lightning-sharp reflexes on the road. All passenger seats have been designed with integrated airbags, and the Driver’s Information System is the focus point of the central console.
