Brisbane Wedding Card Designer Joins the Vintage and Handmade Bridal Expo

QUEENSLAND, Australia March, 2013 –The two ladies behind Vintage and Handmade Bride – Melanie and Kimmi – love weddings so much that, in January 2013, they sponsored a ‘Love Sweet Love’ Bridal Expo at the historic Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba. More than 20 creative vendors specialising in vintage, handmade, and eclectic wedding goods such as flowers, dresses and wedding cards were on hand when soon-to-be brides flocked to the expo in South East Queensland.

The ’Love Sweet Love’ Bridal Expo did not just offer standard bridal stands though, this bridal expo was displayed in a unique way that made it so easy for brides to really picture how their wedding would be – down to the finishing touches. The expo featured styled areas where vendors collaborated to show couples how flowers, styling, wedding invitation samples, gowns, and cakes, can work together to create the feel and look they’ve been dreaming of. To add to the fun and festivities, a photo booth was set up with fun props for guests to enjoy and they could even have a game of croquet on the stunning lawns in Gabbinbar.

Bonnie Wilkins, wedding card designer and owner of Blis Design, was among the creative participants who shared their crafts with the couples and guests of this unique bridal expo. “So many vendors joined forces to help brides and their bridal parties make the best decisions for their dream wedding,” says Bonnie. “As someone who is passionate about weddings and getting all the finer details perfect, I couldn’t be happier to be a part of an event that helps guests to see every detail combined in the larger picture.

“On behalf of Blis Design, I contributed wedding invitations, programs, and reception stationery to the unique styled areas. I also presented a wedding workshop on ‘Invitation Mastery’ where I helped the guests to gain insight into different invitation formats, types of paper and card; embellishment ideas, and how all of these combine to make a real impression of how the engaged couple are entering married life.” www.blisdesign.com.au/

Bonnie works with her clients to prepare custom designs and handcrafted wedding card invitation samples, which they then tweak together until the couple decide they have the perfect finished piece for their dream wedding. Bonnie personally helps them to come up with creative ideas and gently guides them to make the wedding invitations themselves or, if they prefer, she does the work for them. www.blisdesign.com.au/

Kylie from Regents Park, who used Blis Design for her wedding stationary, says “Our Blis Designed wedding stationary was just incredible, everything was so beautiful and presented so nicely, more than half of our wedding guests commented on all of the stationary. My husband and I would recommend to anyone any day.”

Michele McDonald from Colthup Boutique Arcade says, “We needed simple yet elegant invitations for our Grand Opening and Blis Design provided us with themed “winter Wonderland” invitations quickly and with ’no fuss’. Bonnie made the process easy with the right questions and formats. We highly recommend Blis Design to any business or organisation seeking stationery for any event.”
