20.07.2006, Zurich, Switzerland – Swiss WorldCargo, the air cargo division of Star Alliance carrier Swiss International Air Lines, and the new established freighter operator Jade Cargo International concluded a cooperation agreement. With immediate effect Jade Cargo International will be supported by Swiss WorldCargo for sales and service in France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland.

Jade Cargo International has decided to forge a partnership with Swiss WorldCargo in an effort to build up its sales coverage in France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland. The decision to choose Swiss WorldCargo has been based on the experience and track record of success of the Swiss carrier in selling to the forwarder community in these countries. Swiss WorldCargo’s reputation is second to none in terms of focus on the needs of specific market segments and customer-friendly execution.

With Swiss WorldCargo’s strong and established sales and marketing organisation, Jade Cargo International has won a perfectly fitting European partner. The Swiss WorldCargo marketing and sales organisation in Europe will support the Jade Cargo International organisation in Amsterdam and Shenzhen to ensure a fast implementation and representation of the brand new freighter airline’s interest.

Swiss WorldCargo will shortly appoint an experienced and dedicated sales manager who will oversee sales activities throughout the assigned sales territories. The manager will be supported by existing Swiss WorldCargo sales staff in all aspects of sales, customer service, reservation and booking processes.

Jade Cargo International will profit from the best qualities of Swiss WorldCargo, who have not only consistently achieved the highest standards of revenue and load factors for their own belly services through a clear niche strategy, but also successfully sold freighter capacity in specific markets through other cooperation. For Jade Cargo International such an outsourcing makes perfect sense, enabling them to focus on a lean organisation and operational excellence.

The Chinese cargo carrier Jade Cargo International will start operations at the beginning of August 2006, immediately after delivery of its first freighter, a Boeing 747-400ERF with a single capacity of 111 tons per flight and direction. The capacity includes 30 main deck and 9 lower deck pallets.

Initially Jade Cargo International will serve Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) and Seoul Incheon (ICN) each three times a week from its cargo hub in Shenzhen (SZX), Southern China.

With a dense truck network, Jade Cargo International has close links to Hong Kong (HKG) and Guangzhou (CAN) airports. The all-cargo carrier also provides regular trucking services connecting all major European airports with Amsterdam, its European gateway.

Jade Cargo International’s second Boeing 747-400ER freighter is due for delivery in November 2006. The airline, which is based in China’s Pearl River Delta, has ordered a total of six aircraft of this type, which will enter service successively until January 2008.

“We are proud to have won Swiss WorldCargo as a partner, a sales and marketing organisation that enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide and is known for highest quality and reliability in marketing and sales,” said Area Manager Europe of Jade Cargo International Andreas Loeffler. “It’s both a partnership and a confirmation for us to go the right way by establishing our company. Swiss WorldCargo is an important partner for Jade Cargo International on the way to a successful entry into the European market.”

“Our very professional sales and marketing organisation will ensure quality service to our and Jade Cargo International’s customers. The cargo will be dealt with the necessary priority and care. It is our strategic goal to leverage our strength in sales and marketing and to enter new but compatible market niches, in this case the exciting South China market.” states an excited Oliver Evans.

Swiss WorldCargo is the airfreight division of Swiss International Air Lines AG. With a worldwide network serving more than 150 destinations in more than 80 countries and a broad spectrum of services, Swiss WorldCargo earns genuine added-value for its customers and makes a substantial contribution to the earnings of SWISS.

Jade Cargo International Co. Ltd. was founded as a joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines (51%), Lufthansa Cargo AG (25%) and DEG - Deutsche Investitions und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (24%). With the Company’s headquarter located in Shenzhen (SZX), the airline is strategically situated in a fast-growing hub in the Pearl River Delta of Guangdong Province in China.
