The Foolproof Development Tool for Voice, Speech & Conferencing

PLANO, TX, 03/09/2005 -- Eicon Networks, a global supplier of hardware platforms for professional communications applications, announces the Diva Server SDK Version 3.5, a comprehensive tool for the development of telephony applications. In addition to conventional applications, the Diva Server SDK also enables software developers and system integrators to transfer existing communications solutions on the Diva Server cards to the IP world.

The Diva Server Software Development Kit is a comprehensive tool for the development and implementation of conventional as well as IP telephony applications. As an important addition, the Diva Server SDK Version 3.5 now supports Diva Server SoftIP -- a new software which can be used to expand the Diva Server call control and media streaming functions to include IP telephony using the standard protocols for Voice over IP (VoIP) and Fax over IP (FoIP). In combination with Diva Server SoftIP, the Diva Server SDK 3.5 is able to directly implement all the communications applications developed for the Diva Servers in the IP telephony world. The Diva Server SDK 3.5 is available for Windows and Linux operating environments.

The Diva Server SDK Version 3.5 offers a comprehensive package of new functions to optimize software development in the fields of voice, speech and conferencing. New features include extended control options for the integration of audio streams with speech recognition software from third-party suppliers, a 128ms echo canceller and the support of such additional audio formats as G.726, GSM and ADPCM (6kHz and 8kHz) based speech coding. The Diva Server SDK Version 3.5 also enables the differentiated management of user and administrator privileges. In addition, the Diva Server SDK Version 3.5 is equipped with a complete function set to develop “passive monitoring” applications (call recording). Example programs in source code, such as a simple VoIP gateway for the conversion between analog, BRI (ISDN), PRI (ISDN) and VoIP connections, are included for a majority of the functions.

The Diva Server SDK Version 3.5 also offers simplified functions for programming call control and media streaming as C/C++ program libraries and ActiveX commands for Visual Basic and .Net environments. In this case, the Diva Server SDK provides programmers with three different interfaces for software development depending on the application scenario.

-- The Diva Server API offers an extensive range of functions for application development using C und C++. Thanks to this programming interface, all the Diva Server functions -- voice, speech, conferencing, fax and data -- can be implemented with ease. Due to its scalability and the fact that it can efficiently process different call systems, this mode is particularly well suited to large server applications.

-- With the Diva Server Component API, Eicon markets an ActiveX interface for a direct integration in .NET or VB applications. The programming interface can be used with a variety of ActiveX-based development tools, such as Borland Delphi. The Component API is ideally suited to quickly implementing and testing software concepts.

-- The Extended CAPI API is compatible with the CAPI 2.0 standard and offers additional proprietary extensions for handling such additional services as call forwarding and preventing call tromboning. The interface is compatible with all existing CAPI applications. New applications can also be implemented quickly and inexpensively.

The Diva Server Software Development Kit Version 3.5 for Microsoft and Linux will be available for downloading on the Eicon homepage for all Diva Server customers free of charge starting at the end of March.
