Auckland, New Zealand (Monday March 4, 2013)CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business has today announced that former Business Fitness New Zealand General Manager Julie Benton has been promoted to the newly-created position of General Manager CCH New Zealand, covering all CCH staff operations in Auckland and Mt Maunganui. Benton will report into recently-appointed Managing Director CCH Australia and New Zealand, Bas Kniphorst.

President of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting Asia Pacific and CEO of Wolters Kluwer Asia Pacific, Russell Evans said: “The overarching responsibility of this newly established leadership role is to continue to drive and expand CCH’s business success in the New Zealand market. This will involve developing and executing strategies to maximise customer loyalty, build staff engagement, drive profitable growth and deliver on revenue, inventory and cost targets for the New Zealand business.”

Benton is widely known in the New Zealand Tax and Accounting industry. Benton has been part of the interactive accounting content firm Business Fitness New Zealand since the company’s inception over 10 years ago. Business Fitness New Zealand prides itself on providing New Zealand accounting professionals with a single source of authoritative and practical information to make them more productive.

Evans noted that Benton has exemplary commercial acumen and through the connections she has in the marketplace she and her team have built 75% penetration of the New Zealand Tax & Accounting market.

Since acquiring Business Fitness New Zealand in August 2011, CCH New Zealand has successfully blended its deep tax and accounting subject matter expertise with Business Fitness New Zealand’s innovative solutions for accountants. These include a range of over 2,000 ‘how to’, process-driven compliance and service templates as well as electronic work papers, documentation kits and software and client development tutorials and webinar programmes. 

Evans said Benton will work very closely with CCH’s Collaborative Solutions Division in Christchurch led by former CEO of Acclipse, Mike Chisholm. She has enjoyed a great rapport with Chisholm and the Acclipse team since 2005.

Benton officially assumes the role of General Manager CCH New Zealand Ltd on Monday March 4, 2013 and will work out of both the Mt Maunganui and Auckland offices. Product Manager Sara Weaver (nee Hansen) will step into Benton’s former role as Manager, Business Fitness New Zealand.
