Radvision and Pantech Team to Deliver LTE Video-enabled VEGA Mobile Phones Featuring Radvision’s BEEHD Video Client
-Pantech’s LTE mobile handsets leverage the Radvision BEEHD Video Client to deliver high quality video capabilities and superior functionality
-Combined technologies minimize CPU and power usage over LTE networks
Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013, Barcelona – Radvision, an Avaya Company, and Pantech, a leading LTE mobile phone manufacturer, today announced that they have teamed to deliver VEGA mobile phones with high quality video calling capabilities. Pantech, one of Korea’s leading manufacturers of mobile handsets, is using Radvision’s BEEHD Video Client Framework to design and develop video-enabled Android-based LTE mobile handsets.
Pantech is using the BEEHD Video Client Framework to develop an LTE handset based on the Google Android operating system, running on Qualcomm chipsets. The BEEHD Client Framework is equipped with easy-to-use, high-level APIs, an optimized media engine, patented video quality technology, flexible signaling capabilities, and innovative optional features that reduce time-to-market while optimizing interoperability. The BEEHD Client Framework also has internal IMS/VoLTE capabilities that allow building video enabled mobile handsets that can easily run on IMS/VoLTE compliant networks.
“We were familiar with Radvision’s reputation for quality and innovation, and were impressed with the performance and capabilities of the BEEHD Client Framework. Radvision has worked closely with us to optimize the solution for using hardware-accelerated video processing. Together, we finely tuned the system to interoperate with the network on which the VEGA phone was deployed. With Radvision’s BEEHD Client Framework, we were able to quickly and massively market LTE mobile handsets with exceptional video communication capabilities.”
-- Jang seokjoon, Senior Member of Technical Staff, Pantech
“Pantech’s selection is a testament to the flexibility and quality of the Radvision BEEHD Client Framework. From initial design through widescale deployment on major mobile operators’ networks, Pantech is using BEEHD to deliver LTE mobile handsets with optimal video communication capabilities. We are very proud to team with such a significant player in the industry.”
