UTuneMe Launches Internet Radio for Expats
Exaget plan to transform the way ex-pats experience radio on their Smartphones with the launch of UTuneMe.
London, 27th February 2013. The internet radio app UTuneMe is set to transform the way ex-pats experience radio on their smartphones.
The app will give listeners the ability to stream international radio alongside local content, meaning they can benefit from geographically targeted offers, whilst enjoying music from radio stations across the globe.
This will be the first time that users can enjoy listening to any global station, as well as hearing news, weather and commercial content that remains relevant to physical location.
The inspiration for the app was taken from the personal experience of Exaget CEO, Shankar Meembat who lived in Finland for 4 years working in various senior management positions at Nokia.
Speaking of his time as an ex-pat, Meembat said:
‘Living in Finland, I found that broadcasters were failing to deliver personalised content to listeners tuning in from different countries. Whilst I was able to listen to the stations I wanted, the news and advertising content was not relevant to me.
‘With UTuneMe, users can listen to the stations they want and still benefit from contextualised content wherever they are in the world. This is something particularly relevant to cities like London, where 35% of the population is ex-pat’
UTuneMe is a new app from Exaget - an innovative technology company founded by a team of mobile specialists who met at Nokia. Exaget has reinvented audio advertising with UTuneMe by targeting offers and adverts according to geographical location.
The app currently hosts popular stations from a number of countries, including Poland, France, India, Greece, Germany and the UK.
