Lockheed Martin Joins Prominent Biometrics Research Center To Develop Advanced Homeland Security Solutions

Rockville, MD, July 19, 2006 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has joined the Center for Identification Technology Research (CITeR), a distinguished academic center at West Virginia University devoted to advancing biometrics through leading edge research. The Corporation will leverage its membership to develop and apply biometrics technologies to critical homeland security requirements.

The organization is the first National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center to focus on biometrics, an area of growing importance to achieving homeland security objectives.
