(York February 7 2013) Everyone’s heard that it’s important to get a high ranking for the keyword terms associated with your website and that article marketing is very effective at helping you do that. So, you have it in mind that you can just submit an article on each of your keyword phrases, and then you would see an immediate impact in the rankings. It’s actually a bit more complicated than that, reveal the article marketing company, SubmitYourArticle.com.

Firstly you need to look at the ranking you are looking for and why you need this. Actually you should be looking at the search engine ranking of the pages on your own website, most notably the main page. Where the articles are ranked in search engines when people search for particular keyword terms is not really important–rankings of articles will have more variance anyway. While articles can rank pretty well for a period of time, they do not usually maintain high rankings. Remember, it is not the articles that you are marketing–it is your website (you market your website with the articles you submit for article marketing) say the article marketers.

The expectation that he could see an immediate result in search engines after submitting just one article for each of his keyword terms is not realistic.

It may help to know that when doing any sort of website marketing, it usually will take several months of consistent marketing before seeing the first fruits of your labors in search engines. This has to do with the way that Google and the other search engines evaluate web pages–they will usually recalculate links and other information about your web pages only every 3 months or so. For a brand new website it can take 6 months or longer to see initial results in search engines.

You could of course see additional traffic to your website with just one or two article submissions. If your article was picked up by a major ezine, you could see quite a bit of extra traffic coming to your site after just one article, which is a definite advantage.

But we’re talking about search engine rankings here, and in the long run it’s the search engine rankings that you’re really trying to change, as they can produce the most dramatic impact on the amount of traffic that comes to your site.

It’s also important to hyperlink phrases within your article. The hyperlinked phrases are thought to carry more weight with Google and help search engines to associate your website with those key phrases. One thing to keep in mind with the HTML resource box is that you really need to vary the keywords that you link in there. You should have a list of 5-10 keyword phrases associated with the general topic of your website, and alternate linking those phrases in your resource box. We have a lot of information on keywords and how to use them for maximum results in your article submissions.

Your site may be ranked pretty low–let’s imagine that your main page is ranked at #100 for a particular keyword phrase. That means that when a person searches for that keyword phrase in Google that the main page of your website is ranked in the 100th position in the results pages. But as you start to market your website consistently and you keep at it for several months, you may notice one month that your web page is up a few in the rankings. Then a month or two later you’re up a few more, and so on. It is quite normal to climb the rankings a little at a time. You may even notice you go two steps forward and one step back sometimes, but overall the momentum is upwards. Try not to get caught up in what individual articles are doing say the article marketing company–the success of your article marketing campaign is more about the effect your articles submissions as a whole are making on your search engine rankings for your keywords.
