Imagine Optic sales grow 27% in 2012 thanks to strong demand in the laser market

San Francisco, CA (SPIE Photonics West) and Orsay, France, February 5, 2013 – Imagine Optic, the leading manufacturer of wavefront analysis and adaptive optics products for high-power lasers and microscopy is proud to announce that sales grew by 27% in 2012 to reach over 2.7€ million.
 
“These 4 straight years of solid growth are the direct result of our commitment to anticipating and responding to the needs of our customers” states Samuel Bucourt, Imagine Optic’s CEO. “The most notable growth came from our ILAO line of deformable mirrors for ultra-intense lasers as adaptive optics is now being incorporated into commercial laser products. We expect that trend to increase significantly in the coming years.”
 
As a case in point, the Nevada Terawatt Facility (NTF) benefits from an adaptive-optics system designed, built and installed by Imagine Optic on its 50-Terawatt Leopard-class laser. Piotr Wiewior, Ph.D. of the NTF called the solution “excellent” for fast and efficient aberration compensation. In particular, he states “Thanks to the adaptive-optics system from Imagine Optic the experimental capabilities of our facility increased substantially as the ‘recovery’ time between high-energy laser shots was dramatically reduced and the focus quality of the Leopard laser beam was increased.”
 
He equally complimented Imagine Optic on the company’s services by adding “The customer support from Imagine Optic is fantastic! They did an outstanding job installing the adaptive-optics system in our facility, and also support us constantly with consultations, advice, answers for many questions, periodic visits and software upgrades.”
 
During the annual Photonics West exhibition in San Francisco from February 5-7, Imagine Optic will be present on stand 1615. Also during the event, Imagine Optic’s R&D Engineer Nicolas Lefaudeux will be presenting “Large deformable mirrors for beam control of high brightness lasers” (Paper 8600-34) during session 8 from 11:20 - 11:40 AM on Tuesday February 5 in room 124 (exhibit level) that he co-authored with Xavier Levecq, Lionnel Escolano and Sebastien Theis.
