Vantage debuts support for DPP AS-11 MXF files, file-based QC with HardingFPA analysis, stunning file-based standards conversion, and subtitling for broadcast and web

Nevada City, Calif. – Telestream®, the leading provider of digital media tools and workflow solutions, today announced new products and capabilities to be showcased in Telestream stand B38 at BVE2013 (Broadcast Video Expo) in London February 26-27. Vantage® enables support for new European technical standards, including the ability to capture and transcode DPP AS-11 MXF files plus workflow automation and file-based HardingFPA analysis. Additional new workflow capabilities include best-in-class, file-based standards conversion and greater support for open and closed subtitling and captioning for television and web delivery. Telestream’s new Vantage Transcode Multiscreen and Lightspeed™ Server products make their BVE debut, addressing the need to streamline multiplatform content production and distribution with exceptional speed and quality.

“Our Vantage file-based video transcoding and workflow automation platform was built from the ground up with flexibility in mind, enabling users to expand their workflows to quickly meet regulatory requirements, increase workflow efficiency, and reach new revenue streams,” said Barbara DeHart, vice president of marketing at Telestream. “The addition of AMWA AS-11 and Digital Production Partnership (DPP) media file format, as well as support for HardingFPA analysis within an easy-to-manage Vantage system, underscores the value in file-based media systems that enable quick adoption of new standards along with more efficient workflows.”

Support for DPP AS-11 MXF files in Vantage enables fast, high-quality AS-11 encoding and transcoding plus multiple methods for DPP metadata insertion. This allows content producers and broadcasters to seamlessly integrate AS-11 file interchange into their file-based workflows with absolute reliability. Telestream Pipeline integrates with Vantage to enable live capture and real-time transcoding to AS-11. AS-11 is a subset of the MXF distribution file format, and the Digital Production Partnership (DPP) is an initiative formed jointly by UK public broadcasters to help maximize the potential benefits of digital television production.

HardingFPA products allow flash and pattern analysis of television broadcast video content following guidelines set by Ofcom in the UK. Telestream integrates Digimetrics Aurora into its Vantage workflow automation products – enabling full, seamless automation of HardingFPA analysis into larger file-based workflows.

Vantage also offers best-in-class, file-based standards conversion with Cinnafilm Tachyon image processing. This includes high-quality NTSC, PAL, 525 HD, and 625 HD format and standards conversion. The quality of this file-based software solution matches the best dedicated hardware systems with pristine scaling and de-interlacing, phase correlation-based motion compensation, inverse telecine correction, preservation of natural motion in frame-rate conversion, and GPU accelerated processes.

Deep Vantage integration with Screen MediaMate is now available, enabling a range of new file-based workflows for open and closed subtitling and captioning for television and web delivery. Features include DVB, teletext and times text for web workflows.

Telestream will feature new Vantage products at BVE2013: Transcode Multiscreen and Lightspeed Server, which are now available. Vantage Transcode Multiscreen automates multi-bitrate H.264 transcoding and packaging for multiplatform video delivery, including OTT, tablets, and mobile devices. The new GPU-accelerated Lightspeed Server enables blazing-fast video processing and H.264 encoding for all Vantage transcode solutions. The Vantage product family provides a complete range of world-class video transcoding and workflow solutions – from single-server installations for automated transcoding, to very large, multi-server systems that produce and assemble millions of finished media packages.

In addition to Vantage, Telestream will demonstrate its Pipeline network video capture and playout devices, Episode encoding software, and Wirecast live streaming production software products in stand B38 at BVE2013 Expo.
