Thomson Elite Signs Reseller Agreement with Clarity Systems for Comprehensive Budgeting Functionality

LOS ANGELES, 07/17/2006, Thomson Elite and Clarity Systems have formed a reseller partnership to provide comprehensive budgeting and forecasting capabilities to professional services firms as part of a full business intelligence solution. Thomson Elite is part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and a worldwide provider of integrated practice and financial management systems for professional services firms.

Thomson Elite will offer Clarity 6, the most recent version of Clarity Systems’ highly scalable Web-based software, to complement the financial analysis and reporting tools in the Elite® Enterprise suite. Thomson Elite will have worldwide exclusivity to resell Clarity 6 in the legal and professional services markets. The company will integrate subsequent releases of Clarity Systems’ product with its next-generation Elite® 3E Business Optimization Suite.

The reseller partnership brings key budgeting enhancements to Thomson Elite’s flagship software, including the following:

* Multidimensional OLAP database for powerful analysis and reporting
* Flexibility in interface and report appearance
* Web-based platform for ease of deployment and convenient access to data
* International capabilities such as multiple languages and currencies
* Audit trail to recover previous budget version
