Australian Personal Branding Expert Overcomes Odds to Launch A Small Business Podcast for Entrepreneurs
VICTORIA, Australia December, 2012 – Everyone has them. Life-changing events where there might be a success that changes the way a life is lived, a tough decision to make or an obstacle to overcome. For Annemarie Cross, it happened when she was at the very young age of 15 and her ‘hurdle’ was a horse riding accident that left her dealing with the horrible effects of a concussion. After falling off her mount and hitting her head, Annemarie began to experience frequent headaches, memory loss, lack of concentration, and an inability to study… all of which kept her from continuing her schooling. www.ambitiousentrepreneurnetwork.com/
Annemarie was crushed. Her dream of becoming a teacher seemed to grow further away each day as she had to attend a concussion clinic at the local hospital and undergo extensive treatment to strengthen her memory and concentration. At such an early age, Annemarie got a job after recovering and worked her way through the rest of her education, attending night school to complete her studies. Annemarie describes this as one of the biggest challenges of her life; but her fighting spirit was strong and this kept her going even though sometimes she felt like the odds were stacked against her.
Now the successful personal branding expert for women entrepreneurs with her own Australian small business podcast show, Annemarie began her working career as an Office Junior, started taking what she calls ‘useful subjects’ such as secretarial practice and accounting, progressed up the corporate ladder, and studied in accounting and in business management. Annemarie’s studies in business management had a special focus on human resources, and this changed her life completely. www.ambitiousentrepreneurnetwork.com/
Annemarie says, “Once I began my studies in human resources, something clicked – I had found a subject that I was totally enthralled by and wanted to learn more about. So I also enrolled in a counselling diploma, majoring in Workplace Issues and career counselling, as well as a handful of additional certificates in resume writing, interviewing, and other career related topics.
“After having left the workforce and undergoing further self-assessments, exploration, professional development, and self-reinvention, I underwent another career transition to that of a Career Coach & Workplace Counsellor, and began to operate my own career consultancy.
“I loved working in this role being able to serve and support others in discovering their own passion. Allowing them to regain meaning, purpose, and rewards in their work – something which I experienced each and every day, was so rewarding,” Annemarie adds. www.ambitiousentrepreneurnetwork.com/
