California Fruit Wine Offers an Alternative to Boring Wine Gifts

Cool and unique alcoholic delight for this year’s holiday season

San Diego, CA – Dec 11, 2012

Bringing a bottle of wine to a holiday party or wrapping one up as a holiday gift can be boring.  This season, those who want to deliver something cool, interesting and different but still holidayish and alcoholic are choosing to bring Fruit Wine. Located in north San Diego, California Fruit Wine,  http://www.californiafruitwine.com/  is recognized as one of the country’s top Fruit Wine makers.

The current holiday line-up includes such popular favorites as Pumpkin Spice, Apricot, Plum and Chocolate Cherry.

Brian and Alan Haghighi, 20-something-year-old identical twins, are the founding partners of California Fruit Wine Company.  For this holiday season, they are announcing two special new wines – Cranberry and Apple. In January, they will be launching two additional new wines – Raspberry and Pomegranate
California Fruit Wines are sold in various retail outlets throughout Southern California as well as in the Vista tasting room.

“This is a new wine for a younger generation,” says Alan Haghighi, Winemaker and Co-Founder. “Not only are our wines tastier than typical grape wine, many say that it is better for you. As our California Fruit Wines are made from fresh seasonal fruit and berries, the natural nutrients and benefits come through.”

What is Fruit Wine?

Technically speaking, all wine is fruit wine, in that all wine is made from fruit. But the term “fruit wine” has come to describe wine made from fruit other than grapes: fruits like cherries, peaches, strawberries, and plums.

In the wine industry, fruit wine is usually packaged as dessert wine. That is because consumers correlate “fruit” with sweet.  But fruit wine, like grape wine, doesn’t have to be sweet. It can be fermented to dryness- the point where all sugar is consumed by the yeast. Some fruit wines are better (subjective) sweet and some are better (also subjective) dry. For us, each fruit is different. And our goal at California Fruit Wine is to find the “sweet spot” for each individual fruit; to fine tune where on the dry-sweet spectrum each of these fruit belongs.
