New Product Offering from UPS Freight Means Customers Don’t Have to Wait

UPS Freight® (NYSE: UPS) today announced an addition to its guaranteed service portfolio that will help less-than-truckload (LTL) shippers meet the growing demands of their businesses while helping their customers to better plan their workdays. UPS Freight® LTL Guaranteed A.M., which the company will begin offering on Jan. 2, 2013, offers delivery by noon to select ZIP codes in the contiguous United States and Washington, D.C.

“In today’s competitive market, customers often need parts, equipment and products earlier than the end of the day. Shippers need to know that parts, equipment or products will reach their customers right when they need them, not hours later,” said Jack Holmes, president of UPS Freight. “We designed UPS Freight LTL Guaranteed A.M. for shippers who need precision coupled with the reliability of UPS’s service.”

Using UPS Freight LTL Guaranteed A.M. is easy: Shippers can obtain rates and request the service at the same time they process their daily shipments through a variety of UPS shipping systems. UPS Freight LTL Guaranteed A.M. is available through UPS WorldShip 2013, UPS Internet Shipping, UPS CampusShip and My LTL Freight on ltl.upsfreight.com. Shippers also can simply write “LTL Guaranteed A.M. service” on their bills of lading to take advantage of this new time-definite delivery option.

Rates-only requests are available by clicking on “Calculate Time and Cost for Freight” on ups.com or by using the rates estimate tools on ltl.upsfreight.com. The eligibility of destination ZIP codes also can be determined online by clicking on “Guaranteed” on ltl.upsfreight.com. Once a shipment has been requested, both shippers and their customers can track its status using UPS technology, including Quantum View Manage and online tracking.

“Our latest shipping option ensures that UPS Freight’s LTL portfolio offers a delivery guarantee for every shipping need, whether it’s urgent or simply day-definite,” Holmes said. “UPS Freight strives to ensure that goods are delivered door-to-door in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.”
