Readers selected K-Series as IT Product of the Year 2012 in the category “Switches

Frankfurt, Germany

Enterasys Networks, a Siemens Enterprise Communications Company, today announced that the Enterasys K-Series received the 2012 IT Product of the Year Readers’ Award in the “Switches” category from German publication Funkschau. More than 7,000 people participated in their yearly “IT Products of the Year” voting in 10 categories. The K-Series won out against 14 competitors in the “Switches” category and defended last year’s title of the S-Series.

“We are very proud of having defended last year’s title successfully and would like to thank all participants for their votes. As a key component of our OneFabric Edge Architecture, the K-Series is also a key differentiator for Enterasys,” said Markus Nispel, Chief Technology Strategist at Enterasys Networks. “Receiving the Reader’s Award is the best feedback you can get and it shows us that users understand the value of our OneFabric Architecture.”

“The Funkschau Reader’s Award is one of the biggest surveys in the German IT market and we have seen again an increase of participants. Especially the category ‘Switches’ is highly competitive with 15 different vendors and surely not an easy one to win. On behalf of the Funkschau Team I would like to congratulate Enterasys for their achievement,” said Ralf Ladner, Editor-in-Chief at Funkschau.

The Enterasys K-Series is the most cost-effective flow-based switching solution in the industry. Providing exceptional levels of automation, visibility and control at the network edge, these flexible, modular switches significantly reduce operational costs while still offering premium features.
