Early Education and Child Care Centers Use Wireless and Broadband Technology to Enable Parents to Monitor Children’s Activities and Progress

Novi, Michigan, July 13, 2006, AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) announced today that it has won an additional $1.3 million network integration project with Learning Care Group, parent company of Childtime and Tutor Time Learning Centers brands and one of the nation’s leading providers of child care and preschool educational services.

Under the terms of agreement, AT&T will provide equipment and a network integration package to Learning Care Group child care centers throughout the country. Each Learning Care Group Center will now have wireless broadband connectivity that enables staff to securely use portable computers from anywhere within the facilities. They can view this information and update each child’s progress, while securely accessing centralized data and business applications. Such comprehensive and secure connectivity will save time and provide each center’s director with more flexibility.

“Our goal is to have the most technologically advanced centers in the early education and child care industry,” said Khris Hruska, director of technology for Learning Care Group. “AT&T’s connectivity performance, networking expertise and ability to execute help us meet our growing needs.”

AT&T currently provides Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) access to AT&T’s Private Frame Relay Network at more than 350 Learning Care Group locations around the country. The AT&T DSL solution builds on a multimillion-dollar project in which AT&T is providing a

Wide Area Network (WAN), integrating the Learning Care Group’s headquarters and company-owned locations. The AT&T network provides Childtime and Tutor Time Learning Centers with secure, high speed online connectivity, helping the company manage and process a higher volume of business-performance data, such as center-based human resources and financials.

With the increased network capacity, Learning Care Group will implement several new Web-based applications that will open the door for new technology innovations and educational opportunities for center staff, children and families. AT&T network and high-speed broadband capabilities will enable Learning Care Group to develop a new parent portal that will give families instant online access to their children’s progress at the centers throughout the day. For example, they can track planned activities and meals, communicate with their children and teachers via instant message, participate in discussion groups with other parents and pay bills online

AT&T also provides hosting services for the company’s external Web sites, internal intranet and Web-based applications from one of its 30 AT&T Internet Data Centers (IDCs) around the world.
