Darwin the IT recruitment specialist is supporting one of its e-commerce clients in an extensive campaign to recruit software developers for its growing operations based in the UK.

Darwin is working with a leading edge, e-commerce business as a preferred supplier to ‘skill up’ their operations to support a rapid growth plan for their online businesses. The Group operates an online e-commerce network trading under several brands and offers skilled developers a unique chance of working in a fast growing, dynamic environment, trailblazing new retail delivery models.  “Our client has been competing successfully with some of the biggest names on the Internet. We are delighted to be working with them on this project,” says Daniel Mulholland, Chief Development Officer and joint founder of Darwin Recruitment. www.darwinrecruitment.com/candidate-services/php-Java-developers/

The company requires a large number of people working at various levels to be part of a multidisciplinary team of Java Developers, Web Designers, Analysts and UX experts. At a time when the global industry is suffering from a general shortage of programming and development skills finding many people with the right skill types and team approach is challenging. With certain technology skills in high demand competing businesses need to do all they can to attract and secure workers to the business. “Our client wants permanent staff so we will be using all our resources and networks to find these people. In the hunt for skills we will be looking across Europe and in other places that significantly extend the reach of the hiring firm,” says Mulholland.

In a recent survey conducted by Darwin on the Mobility of Labour in the IT and Telecoms market nearly 40% of respondents interviewed said that their company was not doing enough to attract key skills.  The most sought after skills were Programming and Development (50%), and Engineering (48%).

Darwin head hunts for people in the closed market across 11 European countries. Opening its first European office in Amsterdam in 2011 it is now set to expand this further with plans to have a presence in 8 core territories within the next three years.
