Alcatel receives TMC Labs 2006 Innovation Award for INTERNET TELEPHONY® Magazine
Plano, TX, July 13, 2006 - Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation’s TMC Labs division named Alcatel’s My Teamwork Land Mobile Radio Conferencing and Collaboration solution (LMRCC) as a 2006 Innovation Award winner from INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
Alcatel’s My Teamwork Land Mobile Radio Conferencing and Collaboration solution facilitates real-time voice and data conferencing between geographically separated users, many having different types of radio equipment, during emergency situations.
“Public safety and emergency response is a key concern of all communities today, and we are proud of the unique LMRCC solution we have developed to help communities bridge the communication gap between their various emergency response organizations,” said Jean-Christophe Giroux, president of Alcatel’s enterprise activities, “We are pleased to receive this award for what we believe is the industry’s first software and standards-based integration connecting disparate radio and telephone devices with data networks to support large-scale voice conference and data collaboration sessions.”
“Alcatel has clearly demonstrated to the staff of TMC Labs that the Alcatel My Teamwork product is truly innovative in the burgeoning VoIP/IP telephony industry. Never before in this industry has there been a greater need to highlight the most inventive VoIP products and services,” said Rich Tehrani, Group Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
According to Tom Keating, CTO and TMC Labs Editorial Director, “The TMC Labs Innovation Awards are based solely upon the uniqueness of the company’s offering or how pioneering the particular product is. It is not based on company revenue or number of products sold. It is based on the concept that Alcatel is innovative.”.
Keating continued, “Alcatel deserves this great honor for creating a ground-breaking VoIP product. I look forward to seeing other innovative solutions from Alcatel as they continue to contribute to the future of the VoIP/IP telephony marketplace.”
The TMC Labs 2006 Innovation Award highlights will be published in the July 2006 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
