TrainACE is a multiple award winning IT training company based in the Washington DC region. They have locations in Maryland and Virginia and they run classes all over the Country. The company is announcing its largest year ever for Certified Ethical Hacker(CEH) training. Many in the training industry have reported 2012 as a down year due to budget cuts on training and new technologies but TrainACE’s CEH training in Maryland and Virginia, as well as its line of advanced security training classes are up by wide margins.

The CEH training class has always been a top offering for TrainACE who has twice been awarded the EC-Council (founding company of the CEH certification) ATC of the Year. The company reported that some of their other offerings sold less than in previous years but CEH training surged. Other certification offerings where sales were slightly lower included CCNA, MCSA and VMWare. This may be an indication of what many in the industry have been reporting as spending cuts on integration of new technologies and training for those technologies. Even with these cuts it appears as though priorities have shifted in the direction of security.

The CEH certification was added to the DoD 8570 directive a couple of years ago and since that time demand has grown. This growth is in part due to the addition of the cert to the 8570, but also because hacking and security breaches have become more common and more public. This trend is leading more organizations and agencies to shift their training budgets to hacking and security training. CEH training provides a foundation in this area and TrainACE reports that spending on their open enrollment advanced security classes (such as Malware Analysis training and Advanced Penetration Testing) has seen extremely wide growth in 2012. “We expected our CEH to be a strong offering this year, but not this strong. The same goes for our advanced courses. This is a clear sign of a shift in training spend priorities.” stated Ryan Corey (https://twitter.com/ryanjcorey), the Director of Marketing for TrainACE.

TrainACE has been providing CEH training and a wide variety of other IT training courses since 2001. The company offers open enrollment classes in Maryland and Virginia (and soon to be San Antonio), custom onsite as well as online training options.
