SQL Server DBAs Learn to Leverage Waits and Queues for Better Performance in Upcoming Confio Webinar

Boulder, Colo., Nov. 26, 2012 – Confio Software will hold a free, live webinar event on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 1:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. UTC/GMT. This informational session will provide SQL Server database administrators (DBAs) with a better understanding of wait types and how they impact database performance. The webinar, titled: I Hate Waits! Get Greater Performance Tuning Gains Using SQL Server Waits and Queues, will be hosted by Neil Hambly, one of Confio’s senior SQL Server DBAs.
“Some DBAs might think there can’t be anything new to learn when it comes to waits and queues performance tuning methodology, but in fact, we’ll demonstrate how the best SQL Server DBAs can quickly navigate through DMV tables to identify the waits causing the greatest performance problems, while skillfully ignoring those that don’t matter,” said Hambly.
DBAs who possess an in-depth understanding of wait types and how they impact the SQL Server environment are more likely to have highly performing databases that serve their business needs. Hambly will provide real-world examples to help illustrate the types of waits that are causing the greatest degradation of performance levels, and how to use this information to drastically improve SQL Server performance.
