Paris, France & Seoul, Korea, July12, 2006 - IBM and Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Nasdaq:DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) announced today that Hyundai Steel, Korean’s leading steel maker, has adopted ENOVIA SmarTeam for efficient design and drawing management, and has put into production a web-based Product Data Management (PDM)system. With their newly implemented PLM solution the company is accelerating time-to-market and increasing competitiveness.

“In the process centric and asset intensive steel industry, the optimized use of equipment and the management of quality, cost, and production are essential in securing a competitive edge for the future,” said Min-Seok Yang, manager of mechanical parts in the Mechanical Engineering Team at Hyundai Steel.“ We needed to adopt a more advanced PDM systemto link our facility management systems and design datain order to meet these requirements, and chose ENOVIA SmarTeam.”

“Hyundai Steel has successfully created a web-based collaborative environment around ENOVIA SmarTeam,” said Kuni Horita, executive director of ENOVIA SmarTeam business in the Asia Pacific region for Dassault Systèmes. “Real-time, multidisciplinary collaboration between Hyundai Steel’s business sites is now possible, with drawings generated by each site managed on a central system, which brings a consistent and seamless process to the whole company. “An innovator in the steel industry in Korea, Hyundai Steel has leveraged ENOVIASmarTeam to benefit from overall data integrity while being able to reuse these data as corporate intellectual capital in an online environment. This is a proof that advanced PDM solutions like ENOVIA SmarTeam can enhance collaboration in the corporate core system,” said Jemann Park, Sales Executive, PLM Solutions, IBM Korea.

The drawing management system using web-based ENOVIA SmarTeam was successfully launched in the first half of this year and integrated to the existing facility management system. Access to 24-hour online support has significantly reduced the time to obtain drawings. The new solution allows data tobe shared easily over the Internet. Increased data reuse coupled with standardizing business processes in line with their facility management systems, enables Hyundai Steel to make the right decisions ensuring their long-term success.

Hyundai Steel is planning on expanding the ENOVIA SmarTeam system enterprise-wide by integratingitthroughout its IT infrastructure, starting with purchasing, unlocking further opportunities to tap into.
