Clearswift Appoints Patrick Cassady as Vice President of Sales, Americas


REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—July 12, 2006 - Clearswift today announced the appointment of Patrick Cassady as vice president of sales, Americas. Based out of Clearswift’s headquarters in Redwood City, Cassady brings 14 years of experience in high-tech sales and executive leadership to Clearswift, most recently with Aspect Communications.

In the role of vice president, Cassady will expand and oversee the sales teams in the United States, Canada and South America. Cassady’s leadership will help increase sales of Clearswift’s flagship MIMEsweeper for SMTP software, its MIMEsweeper SMTP/HTTP Appliance offerings and recently released MIMEsweeper Email Managed Service.

Prior to joining Clearswift, Cassady served as Western area sales director for Aspect Communications where he hired and managed a team of sales people in the Western US and Canada. He has worked for Sybase Corporation, where he hired and managed a new overlay sales team. Previous to Sybase, Cassady worked at GlobalSight as vice president of North American sales and helped form strategic partnerships around the world. Cassady has held various roles at Network Associates, Remedy Corporation, Internet Security Systems and Insignia Solutions in sales and management.

Cassady holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in telecommunications, management and sales from Pepperdine University. He has completed the David Sandler Sales Program, Professional Sales Skills Training and the Science of Selling Institute Programs.
