Sharing the Stories of the West Pilbara - Ngurra Nyingu Art Exhibition 2012

WEBWIRE

The annual Woodside sponsored Ngurra Nyingu Exhibition is coming to Perth in November for the fifth year, showcasing paintings, unique glass works and painted ceramic plates by Pilbara artists.

For the first time this year, several artists will be travelling from Roebourne to paint each day at the exhibition and share their stories and inspirations first-hand with visitors to the event.

This annual exhibition is one of Woodside’s cornerstone community activities, supporting Indigenous artists to express their culture, country and stories through artwork. It is one of a range of programs identified as important to the Traditional Custodians of the West Pilbara and supported by Woodside through Pluto LNG.

Ngurra Nyingu means ‘We Are From This Country’ in the language of the Ngarluma people, who are the Traditional Owners of the Roebourne area.

The Exhibition is open to the public and will take place at Woodside Plaza Foyer, 240 St Georges Terrace Perth. Visitors are welcomed between 8am to 4pm (weekdays) from 12 to 23 November 2012.
