Classic rock band, The Clan have resurrected a tradition lost with the demise of Slade, The Sweet and T.Rex with the resurrection of a rock Christmas anthem entitled ’It’s Christmas (let’s have a good time)’ which is released on November 10th.

The band’s frontman from Wirral near The Beatles home of Liverpool said that his aim was to write a pop rock song that “put the fun back into the genre.”

Singer and guitarist Craig McDonald said: T.Rex, Slade, The Sweet were bands that The Clan grew up with and their influence has never waned. That was an era when what has since become classic rock was produced with catchy hook lines, sing along choruses and most importantly delivered with a sense of fun and humour. Our tribute is an effort to close the gap that has existed since these bands have disappeared from the media spotlight and also hopefully create our own classic which will be played at parties across the world"

The band have also made a video to accompany the song which is available on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60i9IqEpYq4

“It’s not our thing to wear make up, but we will, to use a Liverpool expression, be made up if people help us get this to the Christmas number one at least in our home country of the UK. A live gigging band has got to be better than anything the X Factor can manufacture. If Rage Against the Machine can do it, we can.”

Further details can be found at www.clan-rock.com and Facebook, Twitter and You Tube users are invited to share the video.
